Golden Joshua Tree Engagement | Ivon + Jorge
A perfect golden Joshua Tree engagement session! Ivon + Jorge were so sweet from the beginning and they came ready to shoot! We planned to shoot at my favorite spot in Joshua Tree and of course shot at sunset. These cuties found me through a past client and it’s always so nice to make connections with mutual friends!
Joshua Tree engagement sessions are a favorite of mine because of the beautiful atmosphere! When the sun sets, it gets so nice and golden. The Joshua Trees mixed with the mountains in the background and the desert makes for the perfect location for an engagement shoot.
You can see other sessions I’ve shot at Joshua Tree on my portfolio page! It’s a great spot for engagements, vow renewals, weddings, and elopements!! This location is only 2.5-3 hours from San Diego and offers so many unique options. If you do decide to shoot here, make sure you get a permit so that you don’t run into any problems with the rangers. I always tell clients, if you’re driving all the way out here, you don’t want to get kicked out for not having a permit!
However, since this is such a gorgeous location for photos, it can get pretty busy. I typically recommend my clients to shoot here on a weekday or a Sunday where there aren’t as many people. If you we do end up shooting on a weekend, I know of a few other spots in the park that aren’t as crowded (it may involve some hiking though) Depending on the location, our start time will change if we have to hike a little! I always provide outfit recommendations based on the location as well.
Also, can we just take a minute to appreciate their outfits?! They went for a western vibe and then wanted a more formal option. Both outfits matched the location so well! I provide all of my clients with outfit recs to help figure out an outfit that matches the location of our shoot.
